Castelo de Alcoutim

It overlooks the river and, according to archaeological excavations, was inhabited during the Iron Age and early Roman occupation. Built in the 14th century as a border defense, it underwent renovations in the 17th century. Inside, there is a small museum displaying archaeological finds and remains of buildings discovered during the excavations.

Zona Ribeirinha de Alcoutim

A populated area with several sculptures dedicated to smuggling, a small marina, and terraces overlooking the Guadiana River. This area was once a hub for smuggling, which occurred along the entire riverbank. Illegal passage was made by swimming, carrying "loads" of wheat, cereals, figs, coffee, eggs, and livestock, all goods in short supply in Spain during the Civil War.

Igreja Matriz de Alenquer / Igreja de Nossa Senhora da Assunção de Triana

A Mannerist church with a single nave and four side chapels. It was founded by Dona Isabel in the 13th century, rebuilt in 1758 (after the 1755 earthquake), abandoned in 1910, and restored in 2001.

Convento da Reforma de Montejunto

Convent built in 1760 on the summit of the Montejunto Mountains, of which only ruins remain today. It appears to have never been completed, as the Dominican Reformation failed to progress.

Igreja da Misericórdia de Alenquer

A single-nave temple rebuilt in 1595 and renovated after the 1755 earthquake. Highlights include the blue and white checkered tiles, the 17th-century baptismal font (from the Várzea Church), the gilded carvings, the ceiling paintings with polychrome borders, the tombstones and ancient sculptures, and the paintings on the main altar.
