Aguiar Castle is a unique rock castle, whose current structure dates back to the 9th or 10th centuries. Situated on a massive granite boulder, archaeological finds have revealed three major levels of occupation: Prehistoric, Celtic, and Roman. Access to the building is via an entrance with six staircases, beneath an ogival portal. Climbing some rocks leads to the highest point, from which a sweeping panorama over the entire Aguiar Valley is offered. The building includes a vaulted-ceilinged room, as well as the embrasure room, a window with privileged strategic visibility.

Considered one of the largest mining operations in the Roman world, the Tresminas mine began during the reign of Augustus (27 BC – 14 AD) and continued until the time of Septimius Severus. It was likely carried out using an open-pit system, creating the large craters that still bear witness to the human effort in the landscape today. A complex system of galleries was opened across the vein for the transport, disposal, and treatment of the minerals, which remains open to visitors. Housed in the 16th-century Convent of Mosteirinho, the museum features a collection of 2,200 pocket, wrist, and parlor watches displayed in ten exhibition rooms. The permanent exhibition is titled "400 Years of Watchmaking in Portugal," featuring 1,800 pieces, all mechanical, dating from the 17th century onward. One of the exhibition rooms is dedicated to Portuguese clocks, which host temporary exhibitions. The museum offers visitors a library with approximately 600 thematic books, a shop, and a garden.
