These doors represent the main entry into Ponta Delgada and are the real ex-libris of the city. Its three imposing arches built in the 18th century open to tourists all Ponta Delgada has to offer. Next to the Doors of the city stands the statue of Gonçalo Velho Cabral and the old buildings of the square with the same name of the browser.

Long staircase dating from 1723-1837 which serves as Calvary to the church dedicated to Santa Cruz. Along the ascent, passing by some stations of Golgotha that lead to spiritual Church completed in 1811 by Cruz Amarante.

Much sought after by tourists, what remains of the Albicastrense Castle rises in an area overlooking the city. It was built by the Templars in the Middle Ages, this despite the traces of human presence in that area in pre- and proto-history, having been surrounded by a line of walls and towers. In the precinct of the fortress, in the citadel, were the Church of Santa Maria do Castelo and the Palácio dos Alcaides. This fortification was part of a defensive system that bordered the Tagus River.

Baroque church of longitudinal plant, consisting of a nave, a chancel narrower, a quadrangular Tower and a sacristy adossadas the left side façade. Inside, more properly in the chancel, we highlight the main altarpiece and the ribs covered with gilt.

An harmonious hermitage, built in a place where, according to tradition, the Virgin Mary appeared in 1410. Inside. Tile panels of the 1700s tell the history of the sanctuary. Their quality and value stand out.

An imposing fortress that still has the divisions for the quarters, the cisterns, the residencee of the governor, the dungeons and the private chapel. It has four baluarts (two higer and two lower) with canon places and cylinder shaped watchtowers.

The first Cove North of the lighthouse, at the mouth of the great tit, there are numerous trails of footprints of dinosaurs (round-shaped). Looking carefully you can see the mark of the rectangular tail. The trail begins in what is now the bed of the Atlantic Ocean and follows the escarpment top.

This palace was built in the middle of the XVI century by a local family named Furtado Mendonça. It is still possible to observe the arms of this family over the main door of the building. It presents a renascent profile. In the end of the XIX century the palace was used as headquarters of the Liceu de Beja and nowadays it became a students’ residence.

A set of archaeological vestiges of great importance to the city's history. Here one can find vestiges of the medieval and modern ages, as well as of the roman period and of the iron age.
