A long mansion with a striking sobriety and simple lines. The only decorative motif on the exterior is the coat of arms and the pediment above the main doorway. Inside, the decor is richer, with an illusionistic perspective ceiling in the chapel and trompe l'oeil paintings.

This museum is a cultural unit of the University of Minho, which created this space with the legacy left by Dona Maria Teresa Cardeal Andrade Martins Salgueiro, who passed away on October 29, 2001. This is a way to showcase the property and its contents, as well as to witness the lifestyle of an upper-bourgeois family in the Alto Minho region during the first half of the 20th century. In addition to the collection on display, it hosts a variety of events.

Gothic-style keep that belonged to the original medieval fortification. It has a quadrangular plan with four floors and displays the coat of arms of King Ferdinand.

Rebuilt in the 17th century, the temple preserves the original chancel, the only vestige of the original building that once belonged to a Benedictine convent. The national monument classification applies only to the chancel.

Palácio da Brejoeira

A grand house commissioned in the early 19th century, only completed almost thirty years later. It features an L-shaped floor plan, with two large facades and two turrets topped by balustrades and pinnacles. Inside, the rooms boast neoclassical décor. Outside, a landscaped terrace is flanked by high walls. The palace, despite being on private property dedicated to the production of one of the region's most renowned Alvarinho wines, is open to visitors.

Castelo de Monção (vestígios)

Of the original castle, built by D. Dinis in 1306, only two gates and some sections of the medieval wall remain. Examples of the 17th-century fortification include the Salvaterra Gate, some curtain walls, and bastions. The tower, a contemporary of D. Pedro I and D. Fernando, is another surviving element of the fortress.
