Ruínas da Igreja de Ansiães

Romanesque church with a single nave, highlighting the main facade with a truncated gable, portal with archivolts decorated with phytomorphic and geometric motifs and a profusely decorated tympanum. In the nave there is a small museum nucleus where there are fragments of the pillory of Ansiães and sepulchral stelae decorated with solar symbols, Maltese and Templar crosses and Jewish stars.

Museu Júlio Dinis - Uma Casa Ovarense

The museum portrays the visit, in 1863, of the writer Júlio Dinis through Ovar. It was in Ovar that Júlio Dinis wrote a substantial part of the book "As Pupilas do Senhor Reitor" and drafted what became the novel "A Morgadinha dos Canaviais". It is the reconstruction of the interior of a traditional farmhouse.

This building has architectural features from the 17th and 18th centuries. On the facade, open, large windows framed in granite, with Johannine decoration. Elegant pinnacles top the cornices on which the pediments rise. The church also has a parietal bell tower crowned by amphorae.
