This village owes its name to the existence of large Neolithic caves in the region, linked to various local legends. Here you can visit the main church, rebuilt in the 16th century, with a tomb, patterned tiles lining the entire nave, and a 15th-century polychrome stone bas-relief, as well as a medieval bridge. Wooden miniatures represent local crafts.

Among the remains of this Roman villa, a mosaic featuring the effigies and names of two of its owners, Cardílio and Avita, stands out. Its occupation is believed to have been between the 1st and 4th centuries AD.

The castle was built during the reign of Dom Sancho I, on the ruins of an older fortification. During Dom Fernando's reign, it underwent restoration work and, in 1755, suffered extensive damage in an earthquake. Later, French invaders left the castle in a state of great degradation, which led to its complete abandonment. Today, it preserves some 14th-century towers, including the keep. The castle grounds have been transformed into a garden and are a pleasant place for leisure.

A set of underground galleries, some fossil-bearing and others still active, stretching for about eight kilometers, with traces of successive occupations from the Paleolithic to the Roman period. The exploration begins through narrow galleries and small rooms. Amidst winding, narrow passages, the visitor finds prehistoric artifacts.

El Museo Municipal Carlos Reis, ubicado en una antigua mansión, exhibe obras de arte sacro, arqueología y pinturas de Carlos Reis. La mayoría de las piezas son donaciones de instituciones o particulares, así como de depósitos de arte. También exhibe objetos procedentes de las ruinas romanas de Vila Cardílio, habitadas entre los siglos I y IV.

Rectangular plant Theatre built in 1926 by a dealer, in the backyard of his home. Between 1968 and 1970, it was the seat of the Meiaviense youth movement and in 1975, Columbófila Society headquarters. In 1996, this theatre was the subject of major restoration and expansion.
