This village stands out for its old houses built with stonee blocks, by its cobblestone streets and by the flights of stairs between the houses.

This village, like the others that belong to the Paranhos parish, is located at an high altitude, surrounded by woods and bushes. It has about 30 inhabitants who live in granite houses by cobblestone streets. The area has pre-historic vestiges, namely mamoas and dolmens.

Chapel annexed to the parish church of Carrezedo dedicated to our Lady of the presentation. Inside lie the remains of the poet and humanist, Sá de Miranda (1481-1558). This grave is marked by an epitaph in Portuguese and Latin written on two stones.
