A set of sculptures scattered throughout the riverside area of Alcoutim depicting various scenes from the activities of the smugglers who inhabited the region in former times.
It overlooks the river and, according to archaeological excavations, was inhabited during the Iron Age and early Roman occupation. Built in the 14th century as a border defense, it underwent renovations in the 17th century. Inside, there is a small museum displaying archaeological finds and remains of buildings discovered during the excavations.
A small marina located right on the Alcoutim riverfront, it offers a variety of sports, including canoeing and rowing. Also, noteworthy are the pleasant terraces along the Guadiana River.

Illegal passage was made by swimming, carrying "loads" of wheat, cereals, figs, coffee, eggs, and livestock, all goods in short supply in Spain during the Civil War.
