The Carregal do Sal Museum is housed in the former building known as the "Casas das Correntes" (Chain Houses), built by Manuel Soares de Albergaria in the mid-20th century. This building will become the future museum.

A megalithic monument, a prehistoric tomb dating back approximately 5,500 years, consists of a polygonal chamber with nine pillars, two of which are broken. It has a roof and a long corridor with eight pillars on one side and seven on the other.

A 12th-century monument that underwent extensive renovations in the 18th and 19th centuries, it preserves its original Gothic Main Chapel, with a vaulted ceiling. Beneath the Gothic-Manueline arch lies the tomb of the knight Fernão Gomes de Góis, executed in 1440 by João Afonso, Master of the Bells.
