Wooden walkways run along the right bank of the Ribeira de Quelhas, near the village of Coentral. The trail has sections of varying difficulty and can be hiked year-round, but is recommended during fall or winter.
A hiking trail that leads hikers to Santo António da Neve, named after the former location where snow was collected to supply the Lisbon Court. The views are breathtaking, encompassing not only National Monuments but also the Atlantic Ocean and the Serra da Estrela mountains.
Route about 4 km which allows, as a first step to walk along the river and see all the surrounding vegetation, especially Oaks, yews, Oaks, Alders and willows. In the second stage of the route, following the River, you can enjoy the beauty of the waterfalls. After passing the highest cascade, begins to climb the cliffs towards the North, where you can show small nuclei of vegetation that miraculously survive there.
Beginning and ending at Coentral Great, this circular route with approximately 5.34 km is done watering the levadas of Coentral, passes through the ribeira das Quelhas, the Coentral and the easel.
About 4.30 miles and calling the Coentral Great, Coentral of barriers and Coentral do Fojo, this route is done by the ancient paths of access to land for cultivation.
