Natural pools with clear waters, located next to the Calheta campsite, just 30 meters from the sea. Offering fantastic panoramic views of the islands of Pico and Faial. Besides some good swimming, you can enjoy sport fishing and diving here.
This islet plan with about twenty hectares of extension was classified as Partial Natural Reserve in 1984. The whole island and the adjacent coast were classified as a Special Protection area due to the importance of its avifauna. Here can be found several species, with emphasis on the common tern cagarro, garajau – rosado and angelito. Access is prohibited but, for those who want to see, just go to the viewing point of the tip.

This magnificent lagoon, of great natural beauty, presents very hot water, being popular with swimmers and sunbathers. It is thanks to this pond the fajã was classified as site of international importance under the RAMSAR Convention on Wetlands of international importance as Waterfowl Habitat. To get to this area, access is pedestrian only.
