The former jail and "Domus Municipalis," one of the oldest and most emblematic buildings in Praça-Forte, now houses memories of the most significant moments in Valença's history. The archaeological remains, a glimpse into the medieval fortification, and the military heyday of Praça-Forte in the 18th century are the highlights of this center.

Inaugurated in 1994, this museum features many objects from several different countries. It includes materials and equipments, donated by national and foreign entities and corporations amd also acquired in speecialized shops and through friends.

A bandstand of the 1800s, located in the public gardens of Valença. It has an octogonal basis and excellent forged iron columns over octogonal granite pillars that sustain the dome.
