The Alviela River headwaters complex includes the Alviela Science Center, a campsite, a river beach, and a walking trail with information.

This phenomenon, rare in Portugal, is found in the Serras de Aire e Candeeiros Natural Park. In this depression, nicknamed Lagoa de Minde, the lake is larger in winter, thanks to underground galleries that overflow with water. It measures approximately four kilometers by 1,800 meters and is about 195 meters deep.
