Ubicado en el Parque Natural de la Serra de São Mamede, destaca el castillo de la ciudad medieval. La fortificación, orientada hacia España, abarca un área urbana con aproximadamente 150 viviendas, principalmente de los siglos XIV al XVI, que bordean las largas y estrechas calles.

It maintains three naves divided by chamfered columns with pointed arches, and in some chapels, Baroque carved altarpieces and coverings with monochrome and polychrome carpet tiles. It houses a curious Renaissance tabernacle.

Tower located in the historic center of the medieval village of Marvão.

An imposing defensive complex located in a location of great panoramic beauty. Most of the castle's buildings date from 1226 and 1230. It was modified and expanded in the 15th, 16th, and 17th centuries. During the reign of King Dinis, bastions, walls, and forts were built. From the reconstruction, only the keep and some sections of the wall remain.

This is the most important testimony to the Roman presence in the Portalegre District. The remains found here belong to the Roman city of Ammaia. Of note is the Monumental Ensemble of the Porta do Arco, which features the bases of two towers that flanked a city entrance, the threshold of the gate, and a paved public square. Also, noteworthy are the structure of the Forum and Temple, and the Quinta do Deão Building, where a pavement, a water pipe, and inscribed stones were found. Also, noteworthy are the Forum Bathhouse and the Theater.

These structures were closely associated with local limestone mining and lime production. They were built in the 20th century and ceased operation around 1960.

The Roman Bridge of Portagem boasts 16th-century architecture that repurposed materials from an earlier Roman bridge. It features a ramped deck and round arches.

This church features a portico with four undecorated ogival archivolts on its main façade. It is the only Franciscan convent in Marvão. At the top of the portico is a window surmounted by the Franciscan symbol and flanked by Rococo decoration. The cloister still features an ogival section and 17th-century archways. Noteworthy are the 18th-century tilework.

Located in the Serra de São Mamede Natural Park, the medieval-style village encompasses an urban agglomeration with around 150 houses, most dating from the 14th to the 16th century, which line the long, narrow streets.
