Housed in the 16th-century Convent of Mosteirinho, the museum features a collection of 2,200 pocket, wrist, and parlor watches displayed in ten exhibition rooms. The permanent exhibition is titled "400 Years of Watchmaking in Portugal," featuring 1,800 pieces, all mechanical, dating from the 17th century onward. One of the exhibition rooms is dedicated to Portuguese clocks, which host temporary exhibitions. The museum offers visitors a library with approximately 600 thematic books, a shop, and a garden.
A space dedicated to the municipality's traditional arts and crafts. The permanent exhibition represents 11 traditional crafts, including pottery, carpentry, basketry, and others. It's noteworthy that each workshop is ready to welcome its artisan, with a variety of objects and tools readily available to the public.
The museum features a collection of archaeological pieces, mostly from geographical areas of the municipality, spanning from the Lower Paleolithic to the Islamic period.
The museum's collection is in the church of Saint Jorge. The building, dating back to the second half of the 16th century, is divided in three main areas: archaeology, ethnography and religious art works.
